Global Policy

Preventing unjust displacement requires changing the rules of the dominant development model.

IAP works to change the international policies that govern forced displacement, the development strategies that determine project choices, and the processes in which those threatened by displacement have voice in and redress over the decisions that affect their lives and livelihoods.  In close collaboration with our local and regional partners, we change the rules of development through policy analysis and advocacy, research, direct lobbying, and savvy use of media and press.

Our global policy advocacy targets the policies and accountability mechanisms of the international financial institutions (IFIs), including the World Bank, Asian Development Bank and private financial institutions that have signed the Equator Principles.  (For more information on the Equator Principles, please go to the Equator Principles website).
